Sewer Camera Inspection Services

Guessing at sewer and drain problems wastes time and money. Norman Mechanical uses high-definition waterproof cameras to inspect the interior of your sewer and drain lines, giving us a clear, real-time view of what's happening inside your pipes. This allows us to accurately diagnose problems, pinpoint their exact location, and recommend the right solution — all without digging up your yard or tearing into walls.

When You Need a Camera Inspection

A sewer camera inspection is one of the smartest investments a homeowner can make. We recommend one when: you have recurring drain clogs or backups that keep coming back, you're buying a home and want to know the condition of the sewer line before closing, you suspect tree root intrusion in your sewer pipe, you're planning a remodel or addition and need to verify pipe condition and location, after a sewer repair to confirm the problem is fully resolved, or as part of routine maintenance every 2–3 years on older homes.

What We Look For

Our HD sewer cameras reveal problems that are invisible from above ground. During an inspection, we identify: tree root intrusion that's blocking or cracking the pipe, collapsed or broken pipe sections, bellied pipes (low spots where waste and water collect), offset joints where pipe sections have shifted apart, heavy buildup of grease, scale, or debris, corroded or deteriorating pipe material, and the exact pipe material and age to help plan future maintenance. Every issue is documented with its precise location so repairs can be targeted and cost-effective.

How a Camera Inspection Works

Our technician inserts a flexible, waterproof camera into your sewer line through an existing cleanout or access point. The camera feeds real-time HD video to a monitor so we can see inside the pipe as the camera travels through it. We walk you through the findings in real time, explain what we're seeing, and show you exactly where any problems are located. The entire process is non-invasive and typically takes 30–60 minutes.

Camera Inspections for Home Buyers

If you're purchasing a home — especially an older one — a sewer camera inspection before closing can save you thousands. A standard home inspection doesn't cover the condition of underground sewer lines, and a failed sewer line can cost $5,000–$15,000+ to replace. For a fraction of that cost, a camera inspection tells you exactly what you're buying. Many of our customers add this service during their home inspection period for peace of mind.
